WEDNESDAY OUTING - KLIPRIVERSBERG NATURE RESERVE

SABAP2 Pentad 2615_2800 This is the largest nature reserve (680 ha) within the Johannesburg Metropolitan area. The reserve is bisected by the Bloubospruit which runs through a valley. Ashy Tit, Common Scimitarbill, Brown-backed Honeybird, Orange River Francolin and Long-billed Pipit are all possible. A variety of game has been reintroduced. Route: We will be entering the reserve from the Klipriviersberg Recreation Centre. From the M1 South, follow the Southgate indicators and take the R82 toward Vereeniging (the M1 becomes R27 and at Kibler Park sign becomes R82). At Kibler Park sign robot, turn left into Gordon Road. At the second road turn left into Pierpoint Drive and follow the road to Peggy-Vera Road. Turn left on Peggy-Vera and then right into the Klipriviersberg Recreation Centre.
